Oil on Linen

Susan is the first female Director of the Royal Institution. When not attending to business there, she works at the Dept of Pharmacology in Oxford, which is where the painting took place. We decided to add the splendour of the Royal Institution in the background, and I added in the lecture theatre to signify Susan’s great ability in communicating scientific matters to the public.
